History of Crisps
Crisps is historic Korean food from the Silla Dynasty. As it is Royal / Imperial Court or Sadaeboo (Nobleman) JongGa's Traditional Food, it is now known as global snack representing Korea by simply producing with fresh vegetable's agro-fishery materials that added with glutinous rice starch and various seasonings.
We can divide it into Wild Edible Vegetables Crisps & Seaweed Crisps. As Salted (Side Dish) Products, Crisps, Fried Kelp are one of 12 Royal Table, there are seaweed crumble, seaweed crisps, potato crisps, seaweed sea tangle crisps, fried kelp, nut crumble, etc. It is easy to keep and carry with you and has long shelf life. Also, with simply heating process, it is able to maintain traditional taste and nutrition.
It is traditional food that has healthy ingredient which it contains of wild edible vegetable's sprouts & seaweed, kelp, seaweed sea tangle, etc.
Salted Seaweed is being processed with manpower which is the best processing condition for crisps, and raw materials such as glutinous rice, sesame seeds, beans etc throughout passing in mountainous area where air and water are fresh, also it is the main important distributing route in inland in the southern coast of Korea. As processed salted seaweed is able to have storage ability. it was distributed into HanYang & inland county as well as in King's Table.

Historical devoted daughter "Sim Cheong" did all little errand in near Buddhist temple and helped to make seaweed crisps in spring season. She made crisps for her father as a portable snack purposes since her father is blind, not able to see.
To make her father to open his eyes, she sacrificed herself into the InDangSoo (River)
and she was reincarnated to Queen. She invited all blinds for her party to find her father and she put all seaweed crisps into table.
All other blinds were confused with first time seeing this kind of food, however, Sim Bong Sa who is a real Sim Cheong's father, enjoyed it when he noticed it is crisps that his daughter used to make for him. Sim Cheong knew it was her father after he enjoyed the crisps. There is Sim Cheong Town in Gokseong, Ohgokmyun still and would like to tell it is the dutiful Sim Cheong's Town where Crisps' main region.
